Paslode Combi Xi 2-In-1 Wood & Metal First-Fix Framing Nailer & Paslode IM65A F16 Angled Second Fix Finishing Nail Gun, 2x 2.1Ah Batteries, 2x Chargers & 2x Cases

Description

  • Product Code:PASCOMBIIM65APK

  • Brand: Paslode

  • Barcode: 5063780009354

  • Taxonomy: Hardware > Tools > Nailers & Staplers

  • Category: Framing & Brad Nailers Twinpacks

The Paslode Combi Xi First-Fix Framing Nailer from ITS is truly a ‘next-level' nail gun that combines framing jobs as well as metal connector fastening in one unit.

In its framing mode, it will easily tackle the jobs you would expect and demand from a Framing Nail Gun such as roof battening, truss assembly, roof boarding, stud work, timber framing and flat roofing.

For metal working mode, simply change the magazine and nose piece, and the same machine will let you working on norm plates, angle connectors, beam shoes, truss slips, norm plates and wind bracing – everything you’d expect a metal nailer would be able to do

Delivering up to 105 Joules of impact force, the Combi Xi is the all-weather nailer that genuinely reduces space and increases your range of working.  The lightweight and beautifully balanced nailer includes exceptional safety levels for end-users thanks to hardened nails and fast hole locator for metal connectors.

You might think that having a 2-in-1 nailer might slow things down…you’d be wrong in thinking that. With a high speed rate of 2-3 fixings per second, the Combi Xi, with easy depth control thanks to a thumbwheel adjustment control, can fire up to 13,000 shots per battery charger.

When working with wood, the Combi Xi will work with 34° paper strip nails from 50 to 90mm.  For metal connector work, the bespoke supplied magazine will accept 35-50mm nails

The Paslode IM65A F16 7.4V Second Fix Finishing Nail Gun from ITS is designed specifically for working in hard to reach tight spaces and corners.

To avoid confusion between this and the IM65 – this is the angled version which is compatible with 32-64mm nails yet still firing with 30Joules of impact force.

It is designed for professional tradesmen, thanks to the sheer power this tool provides. It provides extended work periods with up to 10,000 shots between charges and an optimum line of sight.

Designed for applications such as door stops, tongue and groove panelling, architraves, window casing, dado rail, skirting boards, beading, stair rails, cladding under roofs and many others.

The design of the nailer has been contoured so as to ensure a clear line of site to the nose and the material yet without diminishing the power and operation of the nail gun.

The optimised nose design and clear line of sight provides easy access in the event of a jam while the distinctive angled magazine has been designed specifically for precision when working in corners and tight spaces

The Paslode IM65A is possibly the lightest and best-balanced tool on the market that allows end-users to manoeuvre into tight spaces and work fatigue-free.

What is a Brad Nailer?

Brad nailers are most likely the most popular type of nailer, often referred to as either "2nd Fix" or "Finishing" nailers. These nailers fire "Brad Nails", which are heavier in gauge (Diameter), than pin nailers. Brad nails also tend to have a small head, and sometines a serrated shank. as a result, brad nails tend to have considerably more holding power than pins. Most common uses include things like attaching skirting boards, door trims, heavier mouldings or furniture assembly work.

You will also see both "Straight" and "Angled" versions of brad nailers available and it can be a bit of a head-scratcher deciding which may be best for you.

Angled nailers can get into corners far more easily which can be a huge advantage depending on the application but can be a little more restrictive in terms of the sizes of nails they can fire (EG 32mm to 64mm), straight nailers may struggle to get right into that corner, but will normally give you more nail size options, often being able to fire nails from a shorter starting point, (eg. 16m to 64mm).

Although Brad nailers fire a heavier gauge nail than pin nailers, the hole they leave behind on the workpiece is still relatively small and easy to fill for a great finish.

Brad nails most commonly have a gauge of around 16-18.

What is a Framing Nailer?

Framing nailers are also referred to as 1st fix nailers.

These are much more of a construction tool, very popular, and definitely not suitable for anything where a fine finish is needed. These nailers can be heavy, and they need to be in order to be able to pack the punch required to fire such large nails into tougher timber.

The most common applications would be any type of timber framing assembly work, such as constructing timber stud walls, roofing, building decking bases or fencing. It's the rough and tough end of the nail gun world. Large, heavy-duty nails with significant holding power are what you can expect here, don't expect a discrete impression of where the nail has been fired either, you are going to know where this nailer has been.

Common nail sizes tend to range from around 50mm to as much as 100mm with some models.

It's also likely you'll have a choice of nail type to suit your application, EG, a standard "Bright Nail" for indoor applications where moisture and rust aren't a problem, all the way through to galvanised nails and even sometimes stainless steel nails for those applications where you really do need to be confident rust is never going to be an issue down the road.

Nails are normally "clipped head" and are often available with a "Ringed Shank" for extra holding power. Typically, nails will be around 2.8mm to 3.1mm in diameter.
