Makita Wireless AWS Adaptors
Makita AWS adaptors let your power tools and dust extractors talk to each other — wirelessly. Using Bluetooth tech, AWS syncs your cordless tool with a compatible extractor to switch suction on and off automatically when the tool’s trigger is pressed.
What Is Makita AWS?
AWS stands for Auto-start Wireless System:
- Wireless Triggering – No cable needed between tool and vacuum
- Automatic Extraction – Suction kicks in when you start grinding, cutting or routing
- Clean & Compliant – Helps control dust to meet on-site health regulations
- Long Runtime – Bluetooth draws minimal power and works seamlessly with cordless LXT tools
Used By:
- Carpenters, floorers and dryliners using plunge saws or routers
- Site chippies running vacuums on cordless mitre saws
- Workshop setups where safety and dust control are top priority
How It Works
The adaptor links your tool to the vacuum by Bluetooth:
1. Tool Side
Install the AWS adaptor into the dedicated port on your compatible Makita LXT tool.
2. Extractor Side
Sync with a Makita Bluetooth-enabled dust extractor. When paired, the vac powers up automatically with tool use.
3. Auto Sync
Once paired, the system remembers your setup and connects instantly each time both units power on.
Popular AWS-Compatible Products
Look for AWS logos or ports on Makita cordless tools:
1. AWS Adaptor Chips
Clip-in Bluetooth modules to activate wireless comms on compatible tools — powered by the tool itself.
2. AWS Vacuums
Makita Bluetooth dust extractors auto-sync with AWS tools. Perfect for routing, sanding and clean cutting.
3. Compatible LXT Tools
Mitre saws, routers, planers, sanders — many now come AWS-ready for dust-free performance on the go.
Makita AWS FAQs
Do all Makita tools support AWS?
No — only certain LXT tools with a Bluetooth adaptor port. Look for “AWS Ready” in product specs.
Can I use AWS with mains-powered extractors?
Only if the vacuum supports Bluetooth and is AWS-compatible. Some Makita corded extractors have this built in.
Do I need to pair every time?
No — once synced, AWS remembers your setup. Just switch on and go, as long as both units are in range.
How far is the Bluetooth range?
Roughly 10–15 metres line-of-sight. Ideal for room-wide use or on mobile fitting jobs.
