I’ve been using the Festool CLEANTEC CTM MIDI I M-Class dust extractor for a while now, and I can confidently say it’s one of the best workshop purchases I’ve ever made. I expected good performance at this price point, but it has genuinely exceeded those expectations. The suction power is phenomenal—consistent, strong, and noticeably quieter than any extractor I’ve owned before. I pair it with my track saw, sander, and router, and the difference in dust control is night and day. Even after longer sessions, the air feels cleaner and I’m sweeping up far less than usual. The automatic tool-start feature works flawlessly too; it kicks in a fraction of a second after the tool starts and shuts off with just the right delay. Build quality is classic Festool: tough, compact, and really well thought out. The Systainer integration is brilliant—being able to click my boxes onto the top makes everything feel like one organised, mobile workstation. Despite its small footprint, the MIDI holds more dust than I expected, and the M-Class filtration gives real peace of mind when working indoors or sanding materials that generate finer, more harmful dust. What surprised me most is how easy it is to live with. The controls are intuitive, the hose is flexible and durable, and it’s genuinely portable. I move it around the house and workshop constantly, and it never feels cumbersome. Emptying the bag and maintaining the filter is simple too, which makes a huge difference when you’re using it daily.
