The Dewalt DCN930N-XJ 18V XR Brushless First Fix 90mm Framing Nailer from ITS is a powerful framing nailer that offers contact trip as well as sequential firing.
Compared to using a pneumatic framing nail gun, users can expect to save up to 20mins in set up time as well as clean-up time. Mechanical rather than gas operation offers consistent performance at temperatures between -20 and 50 degrees Celsius with minimal cleaning/service requirements. Lower noise (no explosion), no fumes and no gas cannisters to dispose of. Gas free operation offers a significant saving in running costs.
Designed to help minimize downtime between shots with an innovative flywheel that stays active for 6 seconds after the trigger is released, this lightweight cordless nailer removes the need for hoses and compressors.
With an easy nail loading system for increased easy of use, the DCN930 delivers a single speed of firing which produces consistent performance and less complexity in operation. Thanks to its impressively compact size, this nail gun will fit in between 400mm joist centres.
The nailer is compatible with most paper tape nails on the market and optimized for both DNPT (Paper Tape) and DNW (Wire welded) 50-90mm 30° angled nails.
With enhanced loading system, the DCN930 offers precise depth control through an extended wheel regulation. The high-strength magnesium magazine offers incredible durability.
The unique nose design lets you align grip, and drive nails at aggressive angles with the redesigned nose specifically built for “Toe-Nailing” applications. For your safety, the nailer includes a dry fire lockout which ensures that the tool is protected from firing without nails in the magazine.
At the heart of this Dewalt nail gun is the brushless motor that allows you to use the tool efficiently. As part of the design, the tool utilizes every bit of battery power when you need, all while reducing the need for ongoing maintenance by reducing the amount of heat generated and working more efficiently.

Framing nailers are also referred to as 1st fix nailers.
These are much more of a construction tool, very popular, and definitely not suitable for anything where a fine finish is needed. These nailers can be heavy, and they need to be in order to be able to pack the punch required to fire such large nails into tougher timber.
The most common applications would be any type of timber framing assembly work, such as constructing timber stud walls, roofing, building decking bases or fencing. It's the rough and tough end of the nail gun world. Large, heavy-duty nails with significant holding power are what you can expect here, don't expect a discrete impression of where the nail has been fired either, you are going to know where this nailer has been.
Common nail sizes tend to range from around 50mm to as much as 100mm with some models.
It's also likely you'll have a choice of nail type to suit your application, EG, a standard "Bright Nail" for indoor applications where moisture and rust aren't a problem, all the way through to galvanised nails and even sometimes stainless steel nails for those applications where you really do need to be confident rust is never going to be an issue down the road.
Nails are normally "clipped head" and are often available with a "Ringed Shank" for extra holding power. Typically, nails will be around 2.8mm to 3.1mm in diameter.
