The is the DC40RA from Makita. It is an impressive rapid charger which has been design for use with the all 40V MAX XGT batteries.
Building on Makita's repuatation for desiging some of the fastest chargers on the market, this takes things up a notch. The 40V 2.5Ah and 4.0Ah batteries are fully charged from flat in 28 and 45 minutes respectively. It can also be used to charge standard 18V batteries when used with the ADP10 charging adaptor (sold seperatley). It can the charge the 18V 5Ah batter in just 40mins
One of the main reasons it works so fast is because of the two fans for cooling. One for forced cooling of the battery and one for cooling the charging circuits. Combining these techniques prevents high temperatures in the battery and charger, extending the life of the battery and significantly accelerating the charging process. Result: an optimal loading system.
