The Makita DJR183Z 18V LXT Reciprocating Saw from ITS is a compact saw that perfect for a range of applications whether it be at home, in the garden or working on site.

The saw features variable speed providing no load speed of 3000 strokes per minute for increased cutting efficiency, delivering a 13mm stroke length with a max cutting capacity of 50mm in wood, max cutting capacity in mild steel pipe of 50mm and is jigsaw blade compatible for increased versatility.

Two switch levers with variable speed control, trigger switch on tool handle and paddle switch on tool body making operation easier with any grip position for versatile applications using either trigger, shoe adjustment and a single LED job light with pre-glow function for low visibility applications.

The lightweight 1.7kg design of the makes transportation around the worksite easy without compromising on power, whilst the ergonomic rubberized soft grip handle provides maximum comfort reducing user fatigue and providing greater tool control.

    This is a handy tool to have. The bigger version sits at home in the shed now, as this is more convenient. The new trigger on the 'barrel' of the saw is very comfortable to use and helps you press it firmly against the whatever you are cutting - this is essential as otherwise all that happens is the blade moves your hand up and down instead of cutting the timber! So why three stars? Build quality is poor for makita. I have had to replace the machine screws that connect the blade holder to the tool several times. No point getting it repaired under warranty just for them to shear off again. Ho hum. I would prefer to pay more money for a more solid tool. Maybe they will iron out the faults for the next generation.( cf multitool)
