The Makita DGA458Z is a compact cordless brushless 115mm angle grinder when combined with Makita's extremely efficient 18v li-ion batteries, becomes as powerful as a standard AC powered machine, accepting 115mm diameter discs with a 22.23mm bore, the powerful brushless DC motor produces a max 8500rpm no load speed.
The motor has been upgraded from a standard 4-pole motor to the much more energy efficient and longer lasting 'Brushless Motor' that is becoming more popular throughout the power tool world. Having a brushless motor allows this grinder to run longer per battery charge, get more power out of the battery and so achieve faster, and more efficient grinding. Also because there are no moving parts in the machine that are going to be worn away so the motor is going to last longer.
Featuring a safety paddle switch, electronic current limiter for overload protection, soft start, anti-restart function, electric brake, Automatic Speed Control - automatically adjusts the cutting speed accoring to load condition for optimum operation. Kickback user protection shuts down the tool to protect the user if rotatoin speed suddenly slows down.
