It also offers excellent UV resistance, making it suitable for both interior and selected exterior sealing applications.
Silirub MPS provides excellent primerless adhesion to most common non-porous building materials, including glass, glazed ceramics, enamel, aluminium, painted metals, treated timber and ceramic tiles.
This versatility makes it suitable for a wide range of sealing jobs, from bathroom and kitchen installations to glazing, shopfitting and general construction work. Its sanitary-grade formulation includes mould-resistant properties that help prevent fungal growth in areas exposed to constant moisture, helping maintain a clean, hygienic appearance over time.
The smooth, easy-to-tool formulation skins over in approximately 20 minutes and cures at around 2mm per 24 hours, providing installers with ample working time while allowing projects to be completed efficiently.
Once cured, the seal remains waterproof, weather resistant and highly durable, withstanding temperatures from -60°C to +120°C. Although it releases the characteristic vinegar smell associated with acetoxy silicones during curing, this dissipates once the sealant has fully cured.
Silirub MPS applies smoothly to create neat, professional-looking joints that require minimal finishing. It is particularly well suited to sealing baths, shower trays, sinks, kitchen worktops, tiled splashbacks and glazing installations where long-term flexibility and resistance to moisture are essential.
