The Makita UV001GZ 40V XGT Brushless Scarifier from ITS is Makita’s first battery-powered scarifier and an essential part of maintaining lawns.
Scarifying is really important as dead grass cuttings, moss and leaves are sitting on surface, can prevent rain water from draining and the soil from receiving oxygen. The water and moisture will sit on top, making your lawn soggy and gradually it will become patchy and thin, allowing moss and weeds to take over.
This scarifier is supplied with both a vertical cutting blade set as well as a thatching set. The blades have a width of 380mm and allows the cutting through the soil to help aerate it. The result is a healthier and weed free lawn.
The thatching blade, unlike a cutter blade, will not cut into the soil. It is designed to help with the removal of lawn clippings, grown moss and other debris to help with getting essential nutrients into the soil.
The depth of the blades can be adjusted up to 12mm below the surface while all the debris is deposited in to the 50L collection bin. Thanks to the inclusion of the brushless motor, the blades can rotate up to 3200 no load speed.
Additional features include constant speed control, electric brake as well as an anti-restart function. Powered by up to two 40V XGT batteries, it will work in parallel meaning that as soon as one battery is empty, it will automatically switch to the other battery without any drop in performance.
