The machine offers flexibility with a collet capacity of 8 mm (¼″) and supports cutting wheels up to 32 mm (1-1/4″) and cut-off wheels up to 52 mm (2-1/16″). Triple-position LED lighting ensures you can clearly see the work area in dimly-lit spaces and tight corners.
Safety and user comfort are built-in. The tool features Makita’s Active Feedback sensing Technology (AFT), which monitors rotation speed and automatically shuts the motor down if a sudden drop in speed - such as a wheel pinch or kickback - occurs.

Makita's AFT is a Smart function to minimise the effect of kick-back. AFT will Shut down the tool, if the rotation speed suddenly slows down (e.g., kick-back). Active Feedback sensing Technology uses an on-board accelerometer to measure rotation and electronically turns off the motor if rotation is suddenly forced to stop. In addition, the torque limiting clutch is engineered to prevent gear damage by automatically disengaging the gears.
