The Makita CE004GZ 40V XGT Brushless 305mm Disc Cutter from ITS is one of the first disc cutters in the 40V XGT range.
With a blade diameter of 305mm and a maximum cut depth of 121mm, this impressively powerful tool is capable of tackling some of the hardest cutting requirements out on site. It will comfortably make easy work of cutting through metal and stainless steel.
Thanks to the brushless motor, the disc cutter produces a no load speed of 5000 rpm whilst ensuring that the vibration is kept low so that you are able to keep working for longer periods without the worry of experiencing fatigue in your hands or arms.
Yet despite its power, it takes your safety incredibly seriously. The CE004G incorporates active feedback sensing technology (AFT) which will shut down the tool if the rotation speed suddenly drops such as when it hits an obstruction, as well as when you are changing the tool attachments.
Makita know that people work at different angles on variously differing jobs. This is why the disc guard can be moved to angle that suits you and the job at hand so that you are not left with an awkward posture whilst working.
Should the battery run out when you’re using it, the anti-restart function will prevent the cutter starting without you being in complete control. At the back of the cutter is a connection to a water supply – this allows the water to bind potentially harmful dust particles, including quartz so that it doesn’t become airborne.
Additional features include an electric brake for your safety along with a built in LED worklight to keep you going, even when light is failing – perfect if you are working on the public highway. To further support this, the disc cutter is IPX4 weather-resistant too.
At the heart of this disc cutter is the brushless motor that allows you to use the tool efficiently. MAKITA AFT
Makita's AFT is a Smart function to minimise the effect of kick-back. AFT will Shut down the tool, if the rotation speed suddenly slows down (e.g., kick-back). Active Feedback sensing Technology uses an on-board accelerometer to measure rotation and electronically turns off the motor if rotation is suddenly forced to stop. In addition, the torque limiting clutch is engineered to prevent gear damage by automatically disengaging the gears.
