Hitachi WH18DBDL/W4 is a new addition to the Hitachi 18v cordless Li-ion range. Its an upgrade from the WH18DSAL/L4 in the sense that it now has a brushless motor. This mean its performance, power and runtime will all increase.
Like its predesessor the WH18DBDL/W4 is a compact lightweight driver that packs an almighty punch! Because of its new brushless motor Hitachi have been able to reduce the size of the tool and make it easier to fit in the hand and use consistantly throughout the day.
The new brushless motor is also able to put more of the battery power into the actual job rather than waste energy on creating heat and friction by powering the old 'carbon brushes'. This means that power output is increased and this model can now generate about 160Nm of torque, and 3,200 impacts per minute, which puts it alongside some of the best cordless impact drivers around.
Its got a fairly standard 1/4" hex shank for impact driver bits, and a LED joblight.
As its part of the Hitachi 18v Li-ion range the WH18DBDL/W4 is compatible with all 18v Li-ion slide on batteries from 1.5Ah to 5.0Ah.
