The Dewalt DCBP518 5.0Ah 18V XR Powerstack Battery from ITS signals the next level of development from one of the largest power tool suppliers in the world.
Traditional, Lithium-Ion batteries are constructed using cylindrical cells. This updated design does away with that and uses stacked, pouch cells. This incredibly unique design reduces the size of the battery, optimizing the size for compact applications as well as increasing the length of time the battery lasts.
When compared to other Dewalt batteries, the Powerstack model has proven to last twice as long, have improved thermal performance, increased cycle life, as well as increased output, and increased durability.

So I decided to add a power stack 5amp battery to my order to see what the hype was about. I’ve only used this in my impact driver so far but you can noticeably recognise the difference in time between charges compared to the standard XR battery. It’s a lot more bulky and heavy than what I was expecting but overall satisfied with this purchase.
