Instead of having to buy separate garden power tools, this unit is the basis for an interchangeable attachment range that includes line trimmers, pole saws, brush cutters and more.
Whether you need a pole sae, brush cutter or hedge trimmer, all you need to do is change the attachment and away you go.
The DUX18 incorporates active feedback sensing technology (AFT) which will shut down the tool if the rotation speed suddenly drops such as when it hits an obstruction, as well as when you are changing the tool attachments.
Thanks to the brushless motor, the Multi Function Head delivers a 2 speed selection as well as variable speed control by trigger. The low vibration tool delivers a no load speed of 0-6800/9700.
Along with Overload protection, an electronic brake, variable speed control and soft start, this is the start of something brilliant for your garden.

MAKITA AFT
Makita's AFT is a Smart function to minimise the effect of kick-back. AFT will Shut down the tool, if the rotation speed suddenly slows down (e.g., kick-back). Active Feedback sensing Technology uses an on-board accelerometer to measure rotation and electronically turns off the motor if rotation is suddenly forced to stop. In addition, the torque limiting clutch is engineered to prevent gear damage by automatically disengaging the gears.

Good build quality
Easy to put together with tools supplied. Lightweight yet sturdy with an adjustable handle.

Good amount of power
Went for this over the 2x18v power head to keep the kit a bit more lightweight. To be honest, the 36v head probably balances the attachments better but not a big problem with a 5ah battery. Run time is not the longest, I got through a 5ah in about 20mins with the brush cutter on very thick grass and weeds, and about 50mins just trimming lawn edges
