The Dewalt DCH172 18V XR Brushless SDS+ Hammer Drill that is not only small, but disguises an incredibly powerful tool.
This is the smallest and also the lightest cordless rotary hammer drill from Dewalt. Weighing only 2.1kg (with a 2.0Ah battery pack), this is 32% lighter than the previous model resulting in a tool that is comfortable to carry, as well as being able to use for longer periods of time.
The class leading Impact Energy motor results in a faster drilling time than many competitors. This reduces the time needed to complete your job. But by doing so, it doesn’t increase the feel of vibration. On the contrary, there is noticeably low operational vibration (8.8m/s²) – this means you can use this for longer without the worry of strain.
The Drill has been designed to, not only a durable and robust design, but to out perform many competitors on the market or in the workspace. The 2 mode operation allows for either Rotary Hammer or Rotary Only modes.

I have the bigger sds and it’s to heavy up a ladder to drill 6mm holes this is perfect nice and light controllable and no bad vibration yes it’s got a 1.6J hammer but it perfect Sand it’s was the best place to get as always the cheapest and fastest delivery
Love the drill. Since my van got done earlier in the year and majority but not all of my dewalt kit got taken I’ve been building it back up again as and when I need the bodies as I still had most of my batteries. Came to a job where some plaster had to be hacked off so brought the HAMMER drill expecting it to have just a hammer setting and only when I got back to the job was very surprised to find that it only has rotary and rotary hammer. Which doesn’t really work with a chisel bit. However for skirting or any other jobs where your using it for long durations because of the weight it’s perfect nice and light but still has the same power and definite reduced vibration from the previous one I has. All in all should have read the details but happy with the purchase.

Love the drill.
