The Dewalt DCD996 18V XR Brushless Combi Drill delivers the perfect balance of power, size and versatility.
This 18V XR Cordless hammer drill brings up to 95Nm of Torque, drilling mode, hammer mode, variable speed and more to your hand, making it ideal for anyone working with plumbing, HVAC, general construction and much more.
The DCD996 has a three-speed all-metal transmission capable of 2,000rpm, an 11 position adjustable torque control with an electronic clutch and an intelligent trigger design. With both a drill driver mode and hammer mode, take total control over a wide variety of applications.
The drilling capacity is impressive thanks to the development of power and the brushless motor for this model. In wood, it is capable of drilling up to 55mm, 15mm in metal and 13mm in masonry. With an output of 820W, the drill also includes a chuck capacity of 1.5-13mm.
The drill also includes Super bright LED with 3 LEDs which give a range from 2.6 to a massive 60 lumens and an all-metal nitro-carburized chuck with carbide inserts helping to minimize dropped bits

I spent some time trying to decide if the additional cost was worth it over the 776 I had previously been using, my conclusion after a few days use is that it definitely is. A very powerful, well balanced tool that is still compact and light enough for extended use without fatigue. Highly recommend.
Solid pro drill driver. Can't fault it, and came with latest upgraded DeWalt charger.
Quality products all round. Price are unbeatable.

I needed a replacement drill for my old Bosch 24V as the batteries were giving up. As I had a DeWalt Fence Nailer already I decided on the DeWalt drill so I can swap batteries. The drill is smaller and lighter than my old Bosch 24V, but more powerful and has more settings. Well built - feels like a sold bit of kit. I like the case as well - well made. I registered it with DeWalt and got an extended 3 year guarantee for free. Would recommend the DeWalt and also ITS who had the cheapest price and next day delivery.
