The BL1820B lightweight and shock-absorbing battery joins the ranks of Makita's 18v Li-ion range, now including a level indicator.

The Makita LXT BL1820 18 Volt 2.0Ah Lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery uses the latest Lithium-ion battery technology. With no memory affect Lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries can be "topped up" at any time with no affect to battery life. The main benefit to this battery type is the weight - up to 40% lighter than Ni-CD makes these the favourites for power tools.

A 2.0Ah battery offers exactly the same amount of output 'power' as a 3.0, 4.0 or 5.0Ah battery.... it just doesn't last as long. They feature 'STAR' protection which when combined with a 'STARED' tool offer over heating and over discharge protection.

The BL1830B 18v 3.0Ah Li-ion batteries use Makita's optimum charging system which produces 430% more runtime, and 2x more cycles over the lifetime of the 194204-5 ( BL1830) batteries.

A 5x lower self-discharge keeps the battery cells active and ready for use even after long periods of storage, charging at any time will have no effect on the battery. Built-in shock absorbing features protect the battery and sixteen firm holding contact terminals reduce the risk of power loss/fluctuation in high vibration work environments.

The battery's built-in memory chip communicates with the charger to maximize battery life using 3 Active Controls (Current, Voltage & Thermal). With no memory affect Li-ion batteries can be "topped up" at any time with no affect to battery life.

Lightweight and shock-absorbing. The Li-ion range delivers 430% more working capacity during it's lifetime compared to Ni-Cad and is 40% Lighter than Ni-MH. The Li-ion has minimal depletion of power during use or in storage over it's lifetime.
