Bought the BCS550 saw for trimming thread bar around site without the need for a hot works permit. The cut is burr free, nuts will go on without dressing the thread. Also useful for cutting sheet and tube. Sometimes I cut the occasional piece of wood, but this blade is not really suited to carpentry. too much friction on the blade. Haven't yet tried fitting a wood cutting blade on this saw. Once I cut some black steel banding and it chipped most of the teeth. They also make a 56 tooth stainless cutting blade but I prefer the 30 tooth for most things. Tool is rated for 3mm thick material but i have cut 10mm flat bar easily. Galvanised steel is softer than regular stock.
