Vaunt PPE
Vaunt PPE is the day-to-day kit that keeps you compliant and protected on site.
When you're cutting, drilling, grinding, or just walking a live job, PPE isn't optional and it's not the place to guess. Vaunt covers the basics that actually get used, so you can grab the right protection and crack on.
What Is Vaunt PPE Used For?
- Grinding, cutting, and chasing where you need proper eye and face protection that stays put and does not fog up the second you start grafting.
- Drilling, sanding, and sweeping up where a decent dust mask or respirator helps keep fine muck out your lungs, especially in refurbs and enclosed rooms.
- Handling sharp edges, fixings, and rough materials where gloves save your hands from constant nicks, splits, and ripped skin that slows you down all week.
- Working around noisy kit like breakers, grinders, and saws where ear protection stops the ringing and keeps you right for long shifts.
- General site movement and snagging where hi vis and basic protection keeps you seen and covered when other trades are still cracking on around you.
Who Is Vaunt PPE For on Site?
- Sparks, plumbers, and chippies doing first fix and second fix who need reliable eye, hand, and dust protection that lives in the tool bag.
- Groundworkers, brickies, and labourers who burn through gloves, specs, and ear defenders on messy, abrasive jobs and need quick replacements.
- Decorators and maintenance teams working in occupied buildings where dust control and clean, compliant PPE matters from start to handover.
- Site managers and supervisors stocking the van or stores so the team can stay compliant without stopping work to hunt around for basics.
Choosing the Right Vaunt PPE
Pick PPE like you pick fixings match it to the risk, not what is cheapest or what is left in the van.
1. Match the protection rating to the task
If you are cutting masonry or grinding metal, go for properly rated eye and face protection and do not rely on basic specs. If you are dealing with dust, choose the right mask type for fine particles, not a token cover that leaks round the edges.
2. Fit and comfort decide whether you will actually wear it
If your glasses pinch, your mask steams up, or your gloves kill your feel, you will end up taking them off. For all day work, choose PPE that adjusts properly and sits right with your other kit like hard hats, hoods, and ear defenders.
3. Go disposable for dirty jobs, reusable for regular work
If you are on a one off dusty rip out, disposables make sense because they are quick and you can bin them when they are clogged. If you are drilling and cutting every week, a better reusable option is cheaper in the long run and gives a more consistent seal.
The Basics: Understanding PPE Ratings on Site
PPE only does its job if it is the right type for the hazard. This is the simple way to think about it before you buy.
1. Eye and face protection is about impact and coverage
Specs are for general flying dust and light debris, but grinding and cutting wants more coverage and a better seal. If sparks and fragments can get round the sides, you have picked the wrong style for the job.
2. Respiratory protection is about seal and filtration
A mask that does not seal is basically decoration, especially when you are sweating or moving about. For dusty work, you want a mask that fits your face properly and is designed for fine particles, not just the big bits you can see.
3. Hearing protection is about consistent use
Noise damage is the one you do not notice until it is too late. If you are regularly near loud kit, pick ear protection you will actually keep on, whether that is plugs for convenience or defenders for quick on and off between tasks.
PPE Add Ons That Stop Mid Job Faff
A couple of simple extras keep your PPE usable all day and stop you working unprotected when something snaps or gets clogged.
1. Spare filters and pre filters for reusable masks
Keep spares in the van so you are not trying to push through with a blocked filter that makes breathing hard and ruins the seal, especially on dusty rip outs and sanding days.
2. Anti fog wipes and lens cleaners for safety glasses
If your specs fog up, you will take them off, guaranteed. A quick wipe keeps vision clear when you are in warm rooms, wearing a mask, or bouncing between inside and outside.
3. PPE storage pouch or hard case
Stops glasses getting scratched and masks getting crushed at the bottom of the tool bag, so your kit stays clean and you are not forced to wear damaged PPE.

Vaunt PPE FAQs
Is Vaunt PPE alright for proper site work, or is it just DIY grade?
It is aimed at day to day trade use for the common site risks like dust, debris, noise, and hand protection. The key is choosing the right rated item for the task and replacing it when it is worn, not trying to make one pair of specs last forever.
How do I stop safety glasses steaming up when I am wearing a mask?
Most fogging is a poor seal pushing warm air up into the lenses. Get a better fitting mask, set the nose area properly, and keep lenses clean. Anti fog wipes help, but they will not fix a mask that leaks round the top.
Do I need ear defenders or will plugs do the job?
Plugs are great if you need something that lives in your pocket and stays comfortable under a hard hat. Defenders are better if you are on and off noisy kit all day because they are quick to flip on and off. Either way, the best option is the one you will actually wear consistently.
How often should I replace masks, filters, and gloves?
Replace disposables when they are clogged, damp, damaged, or you cannot get a good fit. For reusable masks, change filters when breathing resistance goes up or they are past their service life. Gloves get swapped when grip goes, the coating wears through, or you start feeling sharp edges.
Will Vaunt PPE work with other kit like hard hats and hoodies?
Generally yes, but fit matters. If you are wearing a hard hat and ear defenders together, check nothing is forcing your glasses off your face or breaking the seal on your mask. If it fights your other PPE, you will not wear it properly on a long shift.
