The Mirka DEXOS 1217 M AFC Electric M-Class Brushless Dust Extractor from ITS is a mains powered, compact, easily manoeuvrable wet and dry extractor that will work hand in hand with Mirka tools.

This, the very first dust extractor designed by Mirka, has been created in response to the needs of trades who have to tackle with dust producing tools every day.

Thanks to the inclusion of the brushless motor, its compact size disguises the fact that it delivers impressively high suction power that is easily comparable to larger models.

With a 17 litre capacity for both dry and wet waste, the DEXOS 1217 M AFC includes additional storage in the top to secure the hose and power cable so that when you’ve finished, everything packs away neatly.  Additionally, you can attach and lock into place Mirka storage cases

The main filter has been rated to work with M-Class dust particles.  M-Class* dust extractors are a minimum requirement for anyone working on sites and who may be exposed to dust according to HSE guidelines.

Equipped with an automatic filter cleaning system and M-class filtration, it ensures proven performance for user protection.  The AFC (Automatic Filter Cleaning) is a feature designed to automatically clean the filters of the dust extractor, ensuring optimal performance and maintaining suction power. This helps to prevent clogging and prolongs the life of the filters, making the dust extractor more efficient and easier to maintain.

Uniquely among dust extractors, it includes 2x 240V power sockets.  This allows you to be able to power both the extractor and your power tool from one socket.  In addition to this, the sockets also enable the autostart function which allows the dust extractor automatically starts when the power tool it’s connected to is turned on. The workflow is streamlined, ensuring that the dust extraction system activates simultaneously with the power tool, thereby capturing dust and debris as soon as the tool is in use.

Since a brushless motor doesn’t have brushes to wear out, it typically has a longer lifespan, requires less maintenance, and is more reliable in the long term. Without brushes causing friction and wear, less energy is wasted as heat and mechanical losses. The higher power-to-weight ratio means smaller and lighter motors for the same power output. Brushless motors also offer more precise control over speed and torque, generating less electromagnetic interference (EMI), making them highly suitable for electronic devices and sensitive equipment.
