The Everbuild Everflex AC50 from ITS is a high-strength, permanently flexible acoustic sealant and adhesive designed especially for use in dry lining and acoustic applications.

It’s formulated to both seal gaps (creating an acoustic barrier) and bond plasterboard or kraft-lined insulation boards to substrates like wood, metal, masonry and existing panels.

One of its distinguishing features is that it combines high grab with permanent flexibility - it doesn’t harden or crack over time, allowing buildings to move or settle without breaking the seal.

It is mould resistant and non-flammable, making it safe for interior use in walls, ceilings and floors.  Everflex AC50 is also over-paintable, so after curing you can paint right over the sealed or bonded joints to match surrounding surfaces.

When used as a sealant, it helps reduce noise transmission by filling gaps, joints or penetrations between plasterboard assemblies, floors, walls and ceilings. When used as an adhesive, it allows for bonding plasterboard to plasterboard, wood or metal studs, or directly to blockwork, with temporary support until curing.

Application is fairly straightforward. The working temperature range is +5 °C to +40 °C. It resists sagging (no slump) at 25 °C when placed in a 20 × 10 mm vertical channel. Tack-free time is approximately 15 to 60 minutes (depending on thickness, temperature and humidity), and full cure can range from 1 to 5 days under typical conditions.

In practice, it’s ideal for acoustic partitioning, sealing perimeter joints in plasterboard, bonding insulation panels, sealing around penetrations (pipes, conduits) in walls and ceilings, and as a finishing seal in sound-sensitive environments like residential theatres, recording rooms, or multi-occupancy buildings.
