The FireAngel ST-622 Toast Proof Smoke Alarm has a Thermoptek smoke sensor, making it less prone to false alarms from cooking fumes.

Using the sensing technology of choice for the UK's Fire and Rescue Service, the FireAngel ST-622 is a sealed 10 year battery powered Thermoptek smoke alarm with improved detection of slow-smouldering fires.

It's handy "sleep-easy" function allows the smoke alarm to be temporarily silenced for 8 hours. CE marked and Kitemarked to BS EN 14604.

Thermoptek technology combines the very latest in optical sensing with a thermal enhancement, constantly monitors for temperature change and if a sudden rate of temperature rise is detected, the sensitivity of the alarm is increased.

This optical smoke alarm works using the light scatter principle. as smoke enters the optical chamber, its particles cause the infra-red light to be scatteredonto a photodiode light receptor. Once light hits this receptor a signal is sent to the integrated circuit causing an alarm to sound alerting occupants of the recognised fire.

In order to achieve the earliest fire warning, Fire Angel recommened that a smoke alarm is fitted in all rooms where the temperature is normally between 4°C (40°F) and 38°C (100°F), such as Hallway, Landing, Bedroom or Living Room.
